Beth Gabel, Owner of Inspiring U

Growing up in a crafting family, Beth learned to sew, crochet, paint, and do all kinds of crafts from her mother. The family spent hours making crafts and selling them at craft shows all over Ohio.

Beth grew up on a farm outside of Findlay, Ohio, and went to a very small country school. She attended Ohio State University and obtained a BSBA with a major in Marketing. She worked in the banking industry for 15 years in several different departments.

But in 1999, JoAnn Fabrics was opening a new test store at Polaris. It was called JoAnn ETC. With 2 small children at home, Beth felt the calling to change careers and get back to something she was passionate about. She became the Education Coordinator and started their first Education Program. After many years, and lots of changes at JoAnn's, there came a time where she knew she could run a better education program on her own.

With the help of Jessica Rudolph, the owner of My Very Own Blanket, a non-profit organization that provides blankets to children in foster care, Beth started Inspiring U in December of 2016. For the first year, they shared the same location, but in May of 2018, My Very Own Blanket moved next door to Inspiring U because both businesses had flourished.

Inspiring U is a place where creative minds come together and make fun and exciting things. There are several different teachers who teach at IU, and they are each very talented in their craft.  Whatever your creative interests are, we have a class for you! And if we don't...just let us know and we can design one!
